The OSCE Mission to Serbia is an international organization comprising over fifteen international staff members, in addition to hosting international trainees and junior professional officers. Job Overview:

To that end, the Mission requires the appointment of a Serbian Language Instructor under a Special Service Agreement (SSA), responsible for providing Serbian language instruction to international personnel during their working hours, either remotely from home or in person at the Mission’s facilities.

Responsibilities of Serbian Language Teacher Jobs in OSCE Serbia:

Under the guidance of the National Human Resources Officer, the consultant shall be accountable for the following duties:

• Developing curricula, learning plans, and instructional materials, as well as preparing, organizing, and delivering in-person and/or online Serbian Language Courses to up to four groups of international mission members (elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, and upper-intermediate);
• Providing mentoring sessions for senior management personnel to enhance their skills in delivering speeches, delivering introductory remarks at public events and official meetings, and working effectively with official documents in Serbian.
• Conducting both group and, when required by learning requirements and proficiency levels, individual language lessons and mentoring sessions within a one-hour timeframe.
• Arranging courses totaling up to 180 instructional days within a single calendar year.

Necessary Qualifications:

• Citizenship or permanent residence within the Republic of Serbia;
• University degree in Serbian language or a closely related field, complemented by proven experience in teaching Serbian to adult non-native speakers;
• A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in instructing Serbian to adult learners;
• A minimum of two years of experience in instructing Serbian to adult non-native speakers;
• Extensive experience in delivering formal language instruction emphasizing grammar and linguistic structure, as well as in providing conversational and “survival” style courses. ·Proven experience in delivering virtual courses through online platforms;
• Proven experience in conducting assessments of learning requirements, evaluating educational programs, and developing curricula and lesson plans;
• Capacity to modify the curriculum to accommodate diverse learning requirements and styles;
• Proficiency in English, demonstrated through both written and verbal communication;
• Proficient in computer skills with practical experience in Microsoft Office applications;
• Ability and willingness to collaborate with individuals from diverse cultural, national, and religious contexts;
• Demonstrate gender awareness and sensitivity, along with the capacity to incorporate a gender perspective into tasks and activities.

Salary:

The consultant shall be engaged under a Special Service Agreement and will receive a total remuneration of RSD 3,600 per group lesson and RSD 2,400 per individual mentoring session. The fee shall be payable on a monthly basis, contingent upon the actual number of lessons conducted during that month. A further Special Service Agreement may be issued to encompass the 2027 calendar year, contingent upon satisfactory performance and/or the availability of funds.
