Position Coverage:
The position is associated with the Asia Africa Dairy Genetic Gain Project (AADGG) Country Program and emphasizes Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Data Management in Livestock Production and Productivity in Nepal. Current and emerging Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and genomic technologies, as utilized by the Africa Dairy Genetic Gains (ADGG) program, offer new opportunities to accelerate genetic improvements in dairy productivity in Nepal.
Responsibilities of Livestock Data Systems Specialist Jobs in Nepal:
- Contribute to the development, refinement, and oversight of livestock production, productivity, and genetic data systems including data collection, processing, and secure storage to facilitate their effective utilization within the ADGG Country Program.
- Evaluate and analyze current data collection tools, and assist in the design and development of additional modules to enhance their functionality and coverage.
- Deliver prompt ICT support to farmers and field-based partner agents via diverse communication channels, including WhatsApp, Telegram, telephone, and in-person field visits.
- Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting services for users of the AADGG web-based platform and mobile application.
- Implement, oversee, and uphold data quality, integrity, and consistency throughout all data collection and management processes.
- Coordinate and facilitate operational training sessions and capacity-building initiatives for key stakeholders and end users to improve system adoption and ensure effective utilization.
- The data system assistant will collaborate with stakeholders in the livestock sector, including national entities involved in animal reproduction.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems, Database Management, Computer Science, or a related field, accompanied by a minimum of one year of relevant professional experience, preferably in ICT or data management within research or agricultural contexts.
