Job Overview:
The role is a Financial Analyst position within RTI International’s Office of Finance. You will manage the daily financial operations of multiple research projects, including cost reviews, forecasting, risk assessment, budgeting, and guiding project leaders on financial matters. The job supports the Social, Statistical & Environmental Sciences research group and can be done remotely or from RTI locations in NC or MA. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the US.
Responsibilities of Financial Analyst Jobs in United States:
- Conduct continuous financial analysis of projects, including the ability to perform profitability assessments, forecast costs and variances, and evaluate fee deviations.
- Conduct ongoing project reviews, including the verification of actual costs for accurate allocation; instigate journal entries; review invoices; and facilitate the approval process for payments.
- Ensure that all projects are reviewed on a monthly basis and that a summary of the financial status of each project is communicated to the project leaders.
- Offer comprehensive guidance to the project leader and team management concerning the potential modification of the statement of work necessitating a revised budget.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly progress reports encompassing project forecasts and resource projections for the client.
- Assist in the preparation of continuation applications and carryover fund budgets; develop supplementary budgets.
- Review the initial project authorizations and setup to ensure accuracy; seek guidance or clarification as needed to comprehend the relevant terms and conditions applicable to the contract.
- Provide excess assistance for proposals as necessary
