Responsibilities of Port Management & Trade Statistics Jobs in Switzerland:
Under the direct supervision of the Chief of the Human Resource Development (HRD) Section / Train For Trade, the consultant will carry out the following tasks within the Port Management Programme:
- Liaise with local instructors and focal points across English and French Port Management networks to organise agendas and coordinate national-level training activities, including field missions as required.
- Assist in organising and participate as a jury member in final dissertations in Mauritania and in other countries across the English and French networks as needed.
- Conduct research and analysis of international trade and port data to contribute to the co-drafting of UNCTAD’s flagship Review of Maritime Transport (RMT), TrainForTrade’s Port Performance Scorecard (PPS), and related indicators, including chapter editing (June–August).
- Prepare formal correspondence letters, emails, and invitations to experts and stakeholders, and manage follow-up on participant registrations.
- Draft final activity reports and produce articles and communication content for UNCTAD and TrainForTrade platforms, adhering to UN gender-inclusive language guidelines and promoting stakeholder engagement through effective communication instruments.
