The MNCH and Nutrition Coordinator will design, execute, and oversee maternal, neonatal, and child health and nutrition initiatives within the designated regions. Responsibilities of MNCH and Nutrition Coordinator Jobs in Tanzania:
- Provide technical guidance, strategic direction, and quality assurance, while supporting the delivery of high-quality technical outcomes for MNCH and Nutrition activities under the ACHIEVE project in Tanzania.
- Ensure that MNCH and Nutrition activities are consistent with national and international guidelines, standards, and protocols.
- Coordinate with the national implementing partner(s), government, and other stakeholders to ensure that activities are appropriately planned, executed, and monitored in accordance with the annual work plan.
- Coordinate and oversee the activities of the NIP Regional MNCH and Nutrition Officers to ensure the prompt, efficient, and effective implementation of all work plan activities.
- Assist government Master Trainers in the training of Facility Champions as required.
- Provide support and oversee the coaching and mentoring activities of the Facility Champion at the health facility level.
- Offer any additional forms of necessary technical support, supervisory oversight, and mentorship for ACHIEVE/Tanzania, NIP(s), government entities, and facility or community health providers as required.
- Oversee the execution of MNCH and Nutrition initiatives in Tanzania to guarantee the prompt achievement of objectives and targets.
- With guidance from the ACHIEVE Deputy Director, collaborate with other essential staff, partners, and stakeholders to develop pertinent deliverables such as quarterly or annual reports, field project evaluations, and work plan updates ensuring that technical accomplishments, best practices, lessons learned, and any innovative models are thoroughly documented.
- Perform all additional duties as assigned.
Basic Requirements for MNCH and Nutrition Coordinator Jobs in Tanzania:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and over six years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Additional local qualifications and experience: Medical degree, Nursing or Midwifery degree, or a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or a related discipline.
Additional Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in public health, global health, health systems, or related disciplines is considered an asset.
- Proven experience in MNCH and Nutrition programming, encompassing national-level coordination or leadership roles.
- Proven experience collaborating with the Ministry of Health and national MNCH and Nutrition agencies.
- Relevant professional experience in at least one of the following technical domains: Maternal Health, Child Health, Nutrition, HIV services, or other health-related sectors.
- Experience with USG/PEPFAR-funded initiatives in Tanzania.
- Experience in managing donor programs that necessitate engagement at the health facility and/or community levels.
- Prior experience collaborating with both international and local partners.
- Experience collaborating with subawards and CSOs in the execution of US/PEPFAR-funded programs.
- Proficient in effective training facilitation and delivery techniques.
