Responsibilities of Finance Officer Jobs in Uganda:

  • Assist the Finance Coordinators with daily reconciliations and financial analysis.
  • Offers support in the prompt monthly closing process and ensures that Field Offices meet established deadlines.
  • Examine financial reports and documents from both field and area offices to confirm their prompt receipt.
  • Collaborate closely with the logistics department to ensure that the asset register is maintained accurately and consistently reflects the physical assets.
  • Prepare a comprehensive travel report for each assignment and submit it to FC.
  • Provide training and assistance to finance and non-finance personnel concerning generally accepted financial practices and NRC internal control policies.
  • Collaborate closely with the assistants to ensure that document classification, cancellations, and filing are carried out efficiently and consistently.
  • Assist program personnel with budget reviews and forecasts, ensuring that budget burn rates are diligently monitored and effectively communicated.
  • Assist the Finance Coordinator in distributing financial guidance and training sessions to the entire Southwest team and NRC implementing partners.
  • Support the year-end closure process and the preparation of audit documentation.
  • Maintain transparent communication with the Finance department, program personnel, and other relevant stakeholders regarding all financial clarifications.
  • Designated individual responsible for managing audit documentation and streamlining the process.
  • Any additional responsibilities delegated by the supervisor.

Professional competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, or Accounting. A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
  • Three years of experience with an INGO is advantageous.
  • Possession of a CPA3 qualification is considered an additional advantage.
  • Familiarity with Agresso is considered an added advantage.
