Job Overview:

You will be responsible for the management, analysis, and dissemination of data pertaining to programming activities and DRC’s population of concern, with the objective of delivering accurate, high-quality, and comprehensive information that underpins the development of an evidence-based humanitarian response.

Responsibilities of Information Management & Database Officer Jobs in Ukraine:

  • Maintain and oversee the online database for DRC’s beneficiaries.
  • Develop and deploy features along with user interfaces such as dashboards and databases.
  • Design robust and reusable front-end architectures that support complex web applications.
  • Coordinate with other departments to enhance the product based on their feedback.
  • Identify and address performance and scalability challenges.
  • Creating scripts (utilizing TypeScript) to update or migrate existing datasets to maintain consistency.
  • Perform data analysis and identify relevant variables, trends, and patterns that offer valuable insights for informed decision-making.
  • Assist Team Leaders with the technical application of the database in cases where data entry is performed by programme staff.
  • Assist programme colleagues with any technical issues or inquiries related to the database and IM in general; deliver training sessions to colleagues on the proper use of the database.
  • Produce monitoring reports and execute backup procedures; assist in the formatting and development of documents related to the collected data.
  • Conduct weekly data quality assessments of the database, documenting any issues and modifications to the IM manager.
  • Ensure that all beneficiary information is consolidated into a single database and remains current; identify any gaps in data and follow up with Team Leaders accordingly.
  • Assistance in furnishing beneficiary lists and data for monitoring activities, including PDM and evaluation reports.
  • Implement data program methodologies and processes.
  • In accordance with DRC’s Information Management Standard Operating Procedures, ensure that all data remains secure and confidential.

Requirements of Information Management & Database Officer Jobs in Ukraine:

To excel in this position, we require a minimum of two years of experience in software development across one or more programming languages. Furthermore, we also anticipate the following:

Required

  • A university degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, encompassing concepts such as generics, asynchronous programming, and functional programming paradigms.
  • Proficiency in KoBo or other applications based on ODK.
  • Proficient in utilizing React.
  • Proficiency in RESTful APIs and enhancing front-end performance.
  • Proficient in advanced-level English; fluent in Ukrainian.
  • Proficient user of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Proven expertise in data collection, compilation, analysis, and reporting, with the ability to communicate findings clearly and concisely in written form and to convey information effectively through oral communication.
  • Proficiency in utilizing ArcGIS/ESRI software will be regarded as an asset.
